[ 01 ]What it looks like

A photo with a notch cut out and a piece at the left edge, dragged until it drops in.

[ 02 ]Why it is hard

Finding the gap offset is the easy half. The graded half is the trajectory: acceleration, micro-jitter, overshoot and release timing are compared against human distributions, so a linear drag or a perfect bezier is flagged immediately. Every vendor validates the path differently, which is why there is no single cross-vendor slider task type.

[ 03 ]How we solve it

Generic sliders go through the coordinate task: post the challenge image as a base64 body with a comment describing the instruction, and you get back the offset plus a drag path with human timing rather than a bare endpoint. Branded sliders should use their own task type instead, because GeeTest, Tencent, Yidun, Alibaba and DataDome each validate the path differently and each page carries the right parameters. Image-only solves need no proxy; the branded task types take one where the vendor binds the token to an IP.

Post the task, get the token. Our SDKs collapse creation, polling and retries into one call.

[ 05 ]Questions about this one

Questions about this one

$1.80 per 1,000 for the generic coordinate path. Branded sliders are billed at their own type's rate, which is higher, because they involve a sitekey and a token rather than one image.

Because most implementations score the motion, not the endpoint. A drag that arrives at the right pixel in a straight line at constant speed fails on GeeTest, Tencent and Yidun, which is why the response includes a path rather than one number.

Not for the generic image-only task. Use a proxy on the branded task types, where the vendor ties the issued token to the IP that requested the challenge.

The GeeTest task type, not this one. This page covers in-house and unbranded sliders; if you can see a gt and challenge pair, or a captcha_id, you are on GeeTest and the branded task gives a much higher pass rate.
